Gears of War 3 – Review

Gears of War 3 is the most developed Gears game in the franchise. Whether you’re talking about the story, the visuals, the sound design, the crowd, or the general theme. The presentation of Gears of War 3 stands above its predecessors. It’s true that you’ll experience strange Unreal Engine animations such as grasshopper legs shaking and popping out of walls or the ground. I think the ladder is a little nit picky and doesn’t bear the brunt of the flaws in this amazing game. Gears of War 3 is presented with flawless level design and unmatched speed in its core gameplay. Note that you can play the entire campaign online with up to four players.
The story of Gears of War 3 begins two years after the sinking of the Jacinto. Lives on a large military ship called the Raven’s Nest. Some of the COGs were Marcus, Dom, Anya, Cole Train, Jace Stratton and Baird who made a living for themselves. Former Chairman Prescott who has not been heard from since the sinking of the Jacinto leaves a message for Marcus and finally begins the story. A message from Adam Fenix (Marcus’ father) who was feared dead but is alive and imprisoned by Queen Myrrah (leader of the Locust).
Marcus’s message from his father about the emulsion and its effects is killing Sera. Emulsion is a natural fuel resource unique to the Sera world, or so we all thought. Adam Fenix has a way to stop the elixir from destroying the world. You guessed it, Marcus has to save his father again, and this time the world depends on it. From here the COG including Marcus, Jace, Dom, Anya, Cole, Baird, Sam and Carmine went on an epic adventure.
Unreal Engine 3.5 was used extensively by its creator to create one of the best console games in existence. Keep in mind that I’ve played hundreds of video games at this point, and I’ve only had my mind blown a few times in Teeth of War 3. The Cole Train zipline looks awesome. I thought it was a cutscene until I saw a reticle on the screen. Shooting grasshoppers on a zip line is a lot of fun. Act 3: Chapter 1 The boss fight with the Lambent Berzerker is terrifying. The glow of the emulsion as he asked created a light show.
The musical and orchestral scores are memorable and perfect for every key dramatic moment or cut scene. All the voice actors especially the people from the previous games did a great job in Gears of War 3. The voice actors are Marcus, Dom, Cole and Baird. Dizzy and Anya are also good. The sounds of the Lambent man shouting “Kill Me” are arresting and terrifying. The sounds of guns, of enemies, even the gentle footsteps, were cautious. If I didn’t type it before I did now, the sound design of Gears of War 3 is the best in the series.
There is nothing new or innovative about the gameplay. You keep shooting and stay behind cover. The fact that I can play Gears of War 3 is the most fun I’ve ever had, and I can be creative every day of the week. The Vulcan Cannon is a two man gatling gun that adds synergy to gun control. One shoots the ammo, the other shoots. A deadly weapon. I loved it. Butcher Cleaver adds melee combat to Gears of War 3. The Cleaver is a large cleaver used by Butchers to cut through Rock Worms in the Hollow. A deadly weapon to use in a story war or Horde 2.0 mode.
A single player campaign will take you between fifteen and twenty hours. There is a single player arcade mode not to mention four player co-op. It looks short because of the way it looks. Whether you play in Versus, Beastmode or Horde 2.0 you will have fun. The multiplayer is deep with unlocks such as weapon skins, badges, stripes and avatar icons. Oh, did I mention that this is the best release of Gears of War multiplayer ever? The. Dedicated servers do a beautiful job. I’ve never had so many double hits at the same time that I and another person hit each other. Say goodbye to procrastination. The multiplayer is the best in the series from top to bottom and side by side. It has the most content and is the most fun to play in my opinion.
Gears of War 3 is the reason why innovation in video games has been celebrated in many times. When you complete your franchise like Epic Games did with Gears of War 3 it doesn’t matter. Gears of War 3 is a god game. Not the best game ever made but the best game on the Xbox 360 in my opinion. Gears of War 3 is my highest ranking of any trading game on this site. Thanks for reading.
